I'm having trouble downloading the files

Our download code packages up your files and streams them live to your browser as a zip file (which is why your browser won't be able to tell you the file size of the package as it's being downloaded). Downloads are usually around 50MB-100MB in size. If your browser has problems with the download, we recommend using the free Firefox web browser from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ if you still have no luck, please drop us a line.

Are the shows suitable for large casts?
|
Yes, all our shows are written to include almost unlimited cast extras.

Can we adapt the scripts to suit our particular requirements?
|
Yes, you may make minor changes to the script to suit the needs of your group. (if in doubt please contact School Musical Shop)

Can I use material from the show for other purposes?
|
If you wish to perform any of the supplied songs or scripts in a context other than the licensed show, then you must apply to School Musical Shop for a separate Performance licence. School Musical Shop will charge an appropriate fee for such use.

Can we record our performances on video our audio tape?
|
Permission to make video or copies of a video or audiotape or copies of a video or audiotape of the show is included in the Performance Licence. This entitles you to make video or audiotape performances and sell or distribute them on a local basis as a fundraiser (e.g. to parents and local community), if you wish to do so.

Do I have to pay royalties?
|
Performance royalties are included in the complete script package price.

What is a Performance licence?
|
A Performance licence is issued on purchase of complete script package. It is required for any performance in front of an audience, including dress rehearsals where an audience is allowed to see the dress rehearsal. It entitles the purchaser to rights to the public performance of the Script, Lyrics, Sheet Music and use of the Music tracks, and use of the templates for programmes and posters. A Performance licence entitles the purchaser to produce the show at any time within 12 months of the purchase date. After 12 months, a new Performance licence must be applied and paid for.

What formats are the files provided in?
|
Most of the files are compressed in ZIP format. If you are a Windows user you can use programs like WinZip (www.winzip.com) or 7-Zip (free from http://www.7-zip.org/) to uncompress the files. Newer versions of Windows have the uncompress feature built in automatically. On the Mac, you'll need Stuffit Expander (free from http://www.stuffit.com/mac-expander.html) as the built-in expander won't work with our zip files.
Music files are provided in MP3 format, compressed to very high quality (320kbps stereo).
Documents and scripts are either in Microsoft Word format (.doc) or Adobe PDF format (.pdf). Adobe provide a free PDF reader at http://get.adobe.com/reader/
PDF documents such as scripts will be watermarked with your school name and license period.

What do I receive in the complete script package?
|
When you order the complete script package you will receive: Performance rights for 12 months from the purchase date; Script; Sheet Music; Song Lyrics; Director's Notes*; Music tracks; Sound effects tracks*; Dance tracks*; Templates for programmes and posters.
